To draw a mandala, first draw a dot in the center of your page. Stick the needle on top of your dot and draw a sequence of concentric circles around the dot that get progressively bigger. You may find it easier to rotate the paper instead of turning the compass to draw your circles. Use your straight edge to draw symmetrical lines running vertically and horizontally through the center dot. Once you have a grid-like sequence of circles and lines, start adding your shapes by drawing a pattern within the area closest to the center dot.
Draw a small set of matching circles, lines, triangles, or waves around the center dot. Use the concentric circles as the baseline for each new set of shapes. As you get further away from the center, make your patterns and shapes progressively larger.
Let your mind wander freely and instinctively add shapes as you find negative space that you want to fill. To finish your mandala, color your individual shapes in with markers or colored pencil. Use the same color or pattern to fill in smaller shapes in incremental patterns. Reuse some of the colors you used on the smaller shapes to color some of your larger shapes. The more colors you use, the more dynamic and impressive your mandala will look! Continue adding color until you've filled in all of the blank spaces.
Outline your shapes with a black marker if you want to give them some definition. Click to place the center point of the polygon. To align the plane of your polygon with a specific drawing axis or other geometry, press the arrow key that corresponds your desired alignment.

You can type a radius value now or immediately after you draw the circle. Mandalas are circular designs with repeating shapes and they often hold spiritual significance. The word "mandala" comes from the Sanskrit word for circle.
Many people find drawing mandalas to be a very centering and expressive activity. To draw your own, sketch a template of concentric circles, and then play around with adding organic shapes and geometric patterns. To draw freehand lines or closed shapes, choose the Draw Freehand Line or Closed Shape icon from the tool bar on the left side of the screen.
In the design area, click the desired starting location and drag the mouse to create the desired line. The drawing tools icon bar contains all the drawing tools to create objects with specific shapes such as lines, dots, circles and squares. The objects provide accuracy in your drawings and are indicated in blue on screen. A polygon consists of several lines that are connected as one object. To insert a polygon, choose the 'Draw Polygon' icon from the tool bar on the left side of the screen. Click in a number of positions in the design area to draw a polygon.
To finish the polygon, click on the first anchor point to close the polygon. Alternatively, you can click again on the last placed anchor point to make an open shape. You can also choose these two options from the toolbar or context menu by selecting 'Close polygon' or 'Finalize the polygon '. To draw a circle, choose the 'Draw Circle-Ellipse' icon from the left vertical tool bar on the left side of the screen.
In the design area, click the location for the first position, then move the mouse until the circle is the desired size and click again to confirm. Alternatively, you can click and drag, then release at the opposite corner. To draw a square, choose the Draw Square-Rectangle icon from the tool bar on the left side of the screen. Click in the design to mark the position of the first corner, then move the mouse to determine the size of the square and click a second time to confirm. Click to set the first corner point of the rectangle. If you prefer to draw the rectangle from the center, press the Ctrl key or the Option key .
Try adding small circles, or leaves, or draw patterns like diagonal lines inside some of your shapes. For a cohesive look, add the designs symmetrically. Use a compass to draw concentric circles around the point. If you don't have a compass, you can make one by tying a piece of string to a pencil.
Hold the end of the string at your center point, and drag the pencil around to draw a perfect circle. Continue drawing larger and larger circles with bigger bits of string. Vary the size of each circle to create an interesting pattern.
A compass is the traditional tool for drawing precise circles, and its sharp point acts as a pivot. To set the compass to the desired radius, use a ruler to adjust the two end points to the desired length. Place the pivot in the center of the circle and move the pencil 360 degrees to draw the circle. You can choose to just leave the mandala a simple black and white design, but it can also be quite fun to color it in. You can color in different sections of your mandala with patterns or solid sections of color. Trace over your design in pen if you drew it in pencil. As you trace, experiment with making thinner and thicker lines. Varying the line weight can add visual interest and a sense of depth to your mandala.
With a ruler, draw lines going through the center point of your paper. Draw two lines pointing in the compass directions, and then two lines cutting diagonally across, evenly spaced. This will form eight symmetrical triangles coming from the center point. You will erase these lines later, but in the meantime they can help you line up your shapes symmetrically around your center point.

Move around the protractor to set the angle, and move your cursor away from the center of the protractor to set the width, as shown in the following figure. In Nintendo's logo we can also see a very good example of using negative space, also one of the tricks used in graphic design to create certain effects. In some cases circle can represent a hole which has its positive and negative sides but when smartly used in the design process, can have amazing impact. The new Twitter logo is also an excellent example of using circle technique to create interesting and memorable logo.
In this example we can also see interesting ways of drawing objects with intersecting, overlapping and subtracting parts of circles. A static bird logo wouldn't have such impact and wouldn't convey the right message explaining speed and movement which characterize Twitter. Doing this will add depth and dimension to the piece and make the white sections pop! I also used MONO Drawing Pen 01 pen to add shading to all the flowers. You may want to draw with a pencil and then trace over with a black pen. Doodles may be shapes, patterns, drawings or scribbles – anything we produce in an idle moment while the focus of our attention is elsewhere.
It's amazing how creative we can be without even trying! Strangely, doodles seem to take shape of their own accord, as if they had a life of their own in a parallel world. You can convert any path into a predefined shape. For example, you can convert a rectangle to a triangle. The stroke settings for the original path remain the same for the new path. If the new path is a polygon, its shape is based on the options in the Polygon Settings dialog box.
If the new path has a corner effect, its radius size is based on the size setting in the Corner Options dialog box. Erase your pencil markings once you've inked your mandala. Now that you've finished drawing your mandala design in ink, it's time to get rid off the template of circles you drew at the beginning in pencil. Make sure that the ink has dried before you start erasing, so that you don't smudge the ink.
